The Tour Operations Manager oversees the daily operations of Odyssey Tours & Safaris/Longitude 131 tour program, based at Ayers Rock, Yulara.
The key duties for this position are as follows: Coordination of vehicle and staff movements, assist in the delivery of all staff training sessions and perform annual reviews of the staff training plan, perform an annual review of the Field Operations Manual, supervision of guides and monitoring of tours in the field and at base, implementing policies and procedures Ensuring that regular maintenance is carried out on tour vehicles, and that vehicles are ready for touring. Preparation and completion of tour manifests and associated touring documentation, operation of company vehicles in accordance with standard enterprise operating procedures as set out in the field operations manual. Promote a culturally appropriate environment with guests and staff. Maintain and update industry knowledge and job related knowledge. Ensure the provision of prompt, quality service that is in keeping with resort standards within the department.
A minimum of two years' guiding experience in a Supervisory or Management role. Proven leadership skills, the ability to work autonomously, exemplary planning and forward thinking skills.
Must hold or be able to obtain a HR licence and Senior First Aid Certificate . Previous experience in a Desert environment would be highly regarded, however any other remote experience would be advantageous.
