Antisocial train........................(4015.jpg)

If you're tired of being stuck in crowded trains, if you can't stand crying children anymore as you try to read the METRO, if you are one of those who finish their nights on the way to work, if you are addicted to your iPod, if you need absolute silence to complete your Sudoku square, if you don't want to suffer from the sight of a man biting a shiny donut as you fight to stay on a diet, then, you might dream every night of a train where you almost have your own room, where you could be enjoying yourself exclusively.

Fresh Hotel.............................(4082.jpg)

Mamma Mia may have everyone flocking to the Greek islands but, for an alternative to whitewashed homes poured down rocky hillsides, check out this cool hotel in central Athens. Appropriately named, Fresh Hotel is probably the opposite of that every moviegoer would expect of Greece right now.

We've all experienced the massive inconvenience that is air travel today: full body scans, no liquids in your carryon bags, taking off your shoes, and the list goes on and on. Where has the sense of our fellow travelers' humanity gone? Or are we destined to one day shuffle naked into the airport before being vacuum wrapped in plastic in order to board a plane? Well, one artist has decided to inject a little humor into this dehumanizing security process: behold, X-Ray Art.

Staying Sane We like having the freedom to go where we want, when we want. Thanks to Sirius Satellite Radio we can add “and listen to what we want” to our list--anywhere in the world, any genre, 100% commercial free. So the next time you want to add a jazzy soundtrack to your safari, use Sirius.

Aquada..................................(4032.jpg)

It's the world's first High Speed Amphibian car. A sports car that takes to the water. Aquada, as it is known, can take off from a boat ramp, a slipway or the beach, and glide effortlessly as a speed boat across rivers or out to sea.

Manhattan Central Park

At the gloriously naïve age of 19 my girlfriend and I flew from California to New York City during our Spring Break in search of the soul of that mythical metropolis. Inspired by be-bop, hip-hop and countless films, we saved and dreamt for months in order to afford what was for us our first adult journey.

Field of Light..........................(4064.jpg)

As if Cornwall's Eden Project wasn't appealing enough, this winter it will feature a dazzling display of illuminated sculpture. Bruce Munro's 'Field of Light' will be scattered, like some surreal luminous alien lifeform, across the grass roof of the visitors' center.

Picture Perfect When you travel as much as we do, there just simply isn’t enough room for all the photographs we take. Besides, who has the time to make up all those photo albums? With Picaboo you can upload all your photos digitally, and create photo-books that you share online. Not only does it save you space in your house, it saves your friends from another slide show.

Barbara Grover Darfur...................(4026.jpg)

We've all heard a lot about Darfur recently, but seeing it is another matter. Barbara Grover spent seven weeks photographing the Darfuri of Iridimi, and a new exhibition, 'Refuge(e) - Moments with the Darfuri of Iridimi' will run October 18 through January 11, at the Sherry Frumkin Gallery in Santa Monica. In it, she manages to capture the beauty, hope and dignity of Darfuri refugees living in isolated, drought-plagued refugee camps.

lace fence by demakersvan...............(4051.jpg)

Most of us regard fences as utilitarian, industrialized objects designed to separate: that space is yours, this space is mine. Keep out! But what if it wasn't so? What if the fences that separate us, emphasized beauty instead of utility? Is it possible to turn something so inherently functional into an object of art?

pisa

We have all seen them. We have all been them. The ridiculous tourist. Those given to childish behavior far from home unleashed by the liberating shadow of anonymity allowed them by the belief that no one is watching. Silly tourist. Yes. We are watching. We are always watching. And this is what we have seen. Take for example these photographs taken of tourists by tourists -- how very postmodern -- at the Leaning Tower of Pisa.

Looking Back While we love to look back and reminisce about our travels, we don’t always have time to scroll through albums online. With Shutterfly you can incorporate these memories into your everyday life by making them into magnets and other memorabilia. Haven’t you always wanted an apron with your picture of the Eiffel Tower?

Sideways................................(4005.jpg)

It's not always easy to retrace the footsteps of major movies, but one which has been well-documented is the 2004 feature Sideways. Set in Santa Barbara Wine Country, it charts the misadventures of two middle-aged men, would-be novelist Miles (Paul Giamatti) and washed-up actor Jack (Thomas Haden Church). Jack's about to get married, Miles is lost, but they soon find themselves drowning in wine and women (Sandra Oh and Virginia Madsen). And it gets very messy.

Castle Leslie...........................(3876.jpg)

In a word: enchanting. How else would you describe a castle as old as the green hills that surround it, nestled in the Irish countryside? An estate where you can be both enveloped by a rich cultural history as well as stimulated by modern spa therapies? In two words: Castle Leslie.

Jumbo Hostel............................(3994.jpg)

I guess it was inevitable. We've had hotels on trains, a hotel in a submarine, and even a hotel inside a harbor crane. So, the recent unveiling of designs for a Jumbo Hostel in Stockholm, Sweden, shouldn't have come as too much of a surprise.

Cutting Edge Although we love getting out of the everyday routine, sometimes traveling can leave us feeling a bit too out of touch.
